Senior HSE Engineer (UK & Ireland)
We have an opportunity for a Senior HSE Engineer (UK & Ireland) to join us at Honeywell, in Bracknell, where you will have demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems, maintain regulatory compliance and improve overall Health, Safety, and Environmental culture. You will provide guidance and technical support to the officers, engineers, advisors or champions responsible for tactical programs and process at office locations and project sites in their country, whilst working closely with the Regional HSE Leader. You will provide influence and technical support to ensure compliance with applicable corporate and regulatory requirements, while minimizing the risk of potential adverse Health, Safety, and Environmental events.
This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model, with around 30% travel within UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment assistance by implementing applicable Management System programs for both office and field environments, supporting all departments. Act as a liaison with advocates and advisors regarding inspections, reports, recommendations, changes in legislation, and external advice. Additionally, ensure the continued proficiency and professional development of personnel within the country.
- Lead the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems through inspections, self-assessments, and audits, ensuring corrective actions are tracked to closure. Support contractor selection and assessments, deploy risk management tools and develop control plans. Create and enforce procedures, provide training, and align communications with corporate and regulatory standards. Oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions, while collaborating with management to track performance and drive injury and illness reduction initiatives. Manage emergency response, environmental processes, chemical handling, waste, pollution prevention, industrial hygiene programs, and medical surveillance compliance. Ensure timely compliance with Annual Operating Plan metrics, conduct risk reviews, and coordinate with contractors, vendors and regulatory bodies.
- Work closely with internal and external customers to improve HSE in the workplace. Partner with business stakeholders to continuously improve the culture, awareness and accountability systems.
- Comply with Honeywell and local legislative Health, Safety, and Environment requirements.
- Evaluate risk associated with business opportunities and contractual obligations.
- Minimum Bachelors or higher degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Engineering (electrical, chemical, mechanical etc.) or equivalent diploma of Nebosh/BsC International Health and Safety
- Strong background in the health, safety and environmental field.
- Working background within Engineering, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Process industry.
- Experience of conducting and leading internal audits and implementing HSE management systems ISO 45001, 14001.
- Must be able to read and understand English and local language technical and non-technical information.
