University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust

Date: 3 weeks ago
City: Leicester
Contract type: Full time
This is an exciting opportunity for a neonatal nurse to join the dedicated neonatal research service at Leicester, in order to gain insight and experience in all aspects of study trial and delivery.

The post is for 15 hours a week, split over 2 days and will ideally be suited for an experienced neonatal nurse looking to further develop their career.

A secondment or clinical job share may be considered with agreement from your line manager. The post is funded for 2 years.

  • Delivery of high quality research
  • Use clinical expertise to provide professional support and education to the multi-professional team (research specific training will be given)
  • Act as advocate to patients and carers within the neonatal research service
  • Ensure the highest standard of care in accordance with NMC Codes of Professional Conduct
  • Uphold and maintain Good Clinical Practice at all times
  • Be adaptable and able to work autonomously
  • Liaise with all levels of staff and demonstrate excellent communication and organisation skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously paramount
  • You must be computer literate and able to navigate around multiple, complex databases with ease and in accordance with GDPR
  • Cross-site working and occasional weekend work will be required

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We Have Four Primary Goals

  • high-quality care for all,
  • being a great place to work,
  • partnerships for impact, and
  • research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

  • we are compassionate,
  • we are proud,
  • we are inclusive, and
  • we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
