We have an excellent opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our services at Mental Health Central Access Point.
Mental Health Central Access Point (MHCAP) is a 24 hour telephone service based at Anstey Frith House in Glenfield, Leicester.
This is a platform for callers who have used the NHS 111 option and selected option 2 for Mental Health Support.
As a HCA for MHCAP, you will be trained to take calls, complete a questionnaire to identify the callers need and triage the call accordingly.
This is a challenging but very rewarding role as you will be supporting callers in distress and working in a busy environment. You will be part of a supportive team where you will be allocated both a Supervisor and a Line Manager.
We are looking for people who are empathetic, patient, understanding and have excellent listening skills.
The health and wellbeing of our team members is very important to us and we offer a robust induction period, which includes 4 week of shadowing and training to prepare for the role as well as regular supervision and support. Job Description Summary (Main Duties And Responsibilities)
This role involves completing of care certificate in the first 12 months of starting your role within MHCAP
As a HCA for Cap you will be taking calls from service users and triaging accordingly either internally to the Mental Health Practitioner or externally to other services.
In addition to this, you will be contacting emergency services when a patient is at risk, completing referrals to relevant teams such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) referral and liaising with GP surgeries regarding patient's ongoing care.
You will be completing the onwards referral checks, checking referrals sent to community teams to ensure ongoing patient care is adhered to where required.
The role involves completing admin referrals sent to the Central Access point generic inbox as well as referrals which comes through admin line.
You will be managing patient referrals where a patient has not attended their telephone assessment as well as conducting safe and well checks on patients whilst they await a clinical triage.
With this role, you will have the opportunity to shadow different teams within the Urgent Care Pathway.
