Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Fundraiser to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support our mission. This position requires strong relationship management skills, excellent customer service abilities, and proficiency in fundraising software such as Raiser’s Edge. You will work closely with various stakeholders to cultivate relationships and enhance our public relations efforts.

You will be responsible for increasing awareness of our Group and not for profit organisations with a particular focus on Opoka and The Compass Project and their causes.

You will identify and engage with new and existing funders as well as responding to smaller grant opportunities as they arise to diversify our funding sources and to source and generate donations and grant funding and submit relevant bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure funding by approaching trusts, businesses or individuals
  • Build a pipeline of prospects and track progress through the pipeline
  • Prepare and submit quality bids
  • Find routes into new funders who we want to approach
  • Manage the overall approach with donors and ensure key relationships are nurtured, encouraging supporters to maintain their regular donations and inspiring new supporters through relationship development
  • Standardise fundraising approach with a standard information bank and proposal templates, maintained with the most up to date information
  • Develop new and imaginative fundraising activities, including organising events
  • Prepare reports on fundraising performance and present findings to senior management.

Essential Requirements

  • Fundraising experience with a solid grounding in raising income from trusts and foundations, major donor, philanthropists, and corporates.
  • Experience of securing funding from Statutory bodies, Lottery and Grant making Trusts and foundations.
  • Experience in researching funding prospects
  • Experience of composing and delivering timely and comprehensive proposals for funding in a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
  • A genuine passion for the mission of the organisation and a commitment to making a difference in the community.
