Job Description

We are developing a digital platform that connects small farmers with the broader agricultural ecosystem. This platform aims to create a seamless network between farmers, buyers, agricultural experts, and service providers. The platform will include features for crop management, market access, expert consultation, and resource optimization. Project Goals:

  • Create an intuitive and accessible platform that small farmers can easily navigate and utilize
  • Build a digital bridge between farmers and potential buyers to eliminate middlemen
  • Provide real-time access to agricultural expertise and best practices
  • Enable data-driven decision making for crop planning and resource management
  • Foster a sustainable and efficient agricultural marketplace

Volunteer Tasks

  • Test user registration and profile creation processes
  • Verify the functionality of core features like crop listing, buyer-seller matching, and consultation booking Assess platform performance across different devices and internet speeds (crucial for rural areas)
  • Test multilingual support and regional customization features
  • Evaluate the intuitiveness of navigation and user flow
  • Identify and document bugs, usability issues, and potential improvements
  • Provide feedback on farmer-specific features and their practical utility
  • Test offline functionality and data synchronization
  • Verify notification systems and communication features

Importance of Your Work: "Your contribution as a QA volunteer will be vital in ensuring this platform truly serves its intended users - small farmers. Many farmers have limited exposure to digital tools, making it crucial that our platform is reliable, intuitive, and error-free. Your testing and feedback will help:

  • Ensure the platform is accessible to users with varying levels of technical literacy Identify potential barriers that might prevent farmers from effectively using the platform
  • Improve the reliability of critical features that impact farmers' livelihoods
  • Make the platform more inclusive and user-friendly for rural communities
  • Contribute to the digital transformation of small-scale agriculture
  • Support food security and sustainable farming practices

Volunteer Logistics

Estimated hours required per week: 10 hrs

  • Attention to detail and analytical mindset
  • Basic understanding of software testing principles
  • Ability to document issues clearly and concisely

  • Previous quality assurance testing experience
  • Knowledge of bug tracking tools (like Jira, Trello)
