We seek a competent event manager based in Leeds or its environ to plan and organize promotional, business, and social events for schools, organizations, and for parents & children.

You will have a key role in ensuring we can maintain our work. You will be a part of our small, extremely friendly, passionate, and forward-thinking charity team. We facilitate children-led projects across the UK, provide educational resources that promote kindness, and advocate for kindness in schools. Our parent and teacher cohorts are essential to achieving our aim as they play a key role and making decisions during the formative years of a child. You will work alongside other passionate team members and professionals. Afrikindness would benefit from your help to raise the partnership's key objective to the next level, design compelling write-ups, and journals, manage media relations and requests, coordinate webinars and events, formulate PR plans, develop and broaden the base of partners, connections, and expertise from organizations involved in a similar purpose. Your role will be significant. You will be making a huge impact in the lives of children and young adults and creating a global movement for fostering positive racial diversity and promoting kindness in children. After securing funding to expand the projects we support, you will be part of the compelling and unique campaign. Your input will shape how we engage with corporate partners, helping us create a strategy that will see us work towards extending our reach and impact and continue raising the awareness to adopt a culture of kindness in our schools, societies, and the world at large, and promoting children's wellbeing. What are we looking for?
The ideal person will be Passionate about improving the lives of children and young people Experience in event planning and execution especially coordinating webinars Innovative and resourceful in supporting the event planning process and attendee experience. Able to think strategically, problem solve, and highly organized Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders Experience in managing people and building a team. Main responsibilities Coordinate webinars and events Formulate PR plans and strategies to promote Afrikindness's mission and objectives Enhance the company’s voice and presence through offline channels produce detailed proposals for events (including timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets) research venues, suppliers and contractors, then negotiate prices and hire manage and coordinate suppliers and all event logistics (for example, venue, catering, travel) produce post-event evaluation to inform future events research opportunities for new clients and events Support the Parent team to manage media relations and requests Work with the Parent team to write press releases, speeches, and other PR copy Collaborate with the Event Marketing team in creating bespoke artwork and branding, Connections with journalists, media, and NGOs who can help to promote our webinars for parents, and events for children will be a plus

At the core of our founding vision is the passion to create a world where every child can transform their community and make a global difference through Kindness. Afrikindness has a clear purpose focused on advancing education and the social and character development of children and young people. We are looking to pioneer innovative and exciting ways for children and young people to learn about culture, race, and kindness. We are looking for volunteers who can support our Events team in developing and delivering the vision and events programs for students, volunteers, schools, and the community. We want to attract and inspire children and young people on Kindness and common humanity. We also want to attract parents through monthly webinars to learn more about racial diversity, intentional kindness, and identity crisis. We'd love to see candidates who can impress us with their passion for sustainability causes, with excellent copywriting and presentation skills. Someone who can produce detailed proposals for events (including timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets) With your help, our events will engage with interesting people and perspectives on parenting, children, and families. You will be responsible for running a range of events, ensuring the target audience is engaged and the event's message is marketed properly. Events play a huge part in the success of our brand as an organization.
