As our new Supply Chain Manager at our brand new purpose built site at Redmoor, Milton Keynes, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective flow of goods and materials throughout our operation. You’ll be responsible for managing the logistics and planning functions, from sourcing raw materials to delivering finished products to our valued customers. Your strategic thinking, leadership, and problem-solving skills will further drive our supply chain excellence.

What You Will Be Doing

Supply Chain Strategy:

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with our business goals.
  • Optimise inventory levels, lead times, and transportation costs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction

Demand Planning

  • Collaborate with sales and production teams to forecast demand accurately.
  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials and packaging components.
  • Balance inventory levels to meet customer demand without excess stock.
  • Manage labour plans to reflect customer demand accurately.
  • Control and improve material variances within the department.

Logistics And Distribution

  • Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.
  • Optimize delivery routes and minimize transportation costs.
  • Monitor on-time delivery performance and address any delays

Quality Assurance

  • Work closely with quality control teams to maintain product quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and certifications.
  • Uphold GMP and hygiene standards.
  • Drive safety performance and behaviours throughout the team.

Risk Management

  • Identify supply chain risks (e.g., disruptions, shortages, supplier issues, ethical supply) and develop mitigation plans.

Team Leadership

  • Liaise cross-functionally to support customer service decisions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement.

Experience And Qualifications

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in supply chain management within the food industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in supply chain software.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of UK food regulations and industry best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of chilled food distribution requirements and regulations
  • Experienced, well liked, successful manager – capable of leading a team, setting objectives and managing successful performance.
