Job Overview

Are you an innovative and experienced mental health leader? Are you driven to improve the care and experience of all age patients who access mental health services? Are you looking for an opportunity to play a pivotal role in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board first point of contact for patients accessing mental health services?

This is a key role within the Mental Health Single Point of Contact SPOC service, which will be facilitated through the national 111 service. You will support the clinical lead and be responsible for day to day management of a varied team of staff including Well-being Practitioners, Health Care Support Workers and Peer Workers, acting as a point of escalation and decision maker for clinical triage and risk management. This will include actively leading the team in a Reflective Support Group at the end of every shift.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will ensure that all components of the service are undertaken to high standards, demonstrating leadership to build trust and inspire motivation and teamwork. This will include supporting the Service to maintain professional clinical standards and be professionally accountable for the delivery of its associated functions. They will provide highly specialised clinical advice to other mental health professionals as well as their direct reports, acting as the clinical decision maker when triaging individuals with sometimes multiple and highly complex mental health needs.

The successful applicant will provide a lead role in supporting the evaluation and management of clinical triage to ensure a range of recovery focused interventions with clear outcomes are provided to enable individuals to reach their full potential, utilising Third Sector organisations and community resources to maximise their recovery. This will include promoting an environment that demonstrates good learning experience for staff and facilitating self-reflection of the team and personal development.

The post holder should be flexible and adaptable to accommodate the needs of the service, contributing to and improving the performance of the service. In the absence of the Clinical Lead, the successful post holder will take lead of the service and will also be required to take part in on call provisions.
