The Quality Improvement Manager will be responsible for supporting quality improvement and patient safety within the maternity and neonatal programme. The role is integral to managing the perinatal quality surveillance programme of work which is a statutory requirement for all regional maternity teams. This role is required to administer the full range of programme management activities to ensure there are robust quality oversight processes in place to support the regional chief midwife and her team. A strong focus of this role will be on quality improvement within maternity and neonatal services.

The post holder must be able to demonstrate experience in leading on quality improvement projects within maternity and or neonatal services and have a good understanding of The Maternity and Neonatal 3 year delivery plan and the Perinatal Quality Surveillance Model.

  • The Quality Improvement Manager will lead on various quality improvement initiatives to support the Maternity and Neonatal programme.
  • The post holder will support the Regional Chief Midwife and her team in maintaining oversight of the Maternity and Early Years programme and the Quality and Safety agenda, alongside other members of the Maternity and Neonatal team.
  • Together with the other Quality leads, the post holder will support the ICSs with delivering improvement in health outcomes and reduction of unwarranted variation in key areas of the programme.
  • Seek opportunities for collaborative working, collective leadership and integration with local systems.
  • Act as a positive role model, working both with and alongside local organisational and system leaders.
  • Demonstrate sound understanding of approaches to innovation, QI methodologies and the application to ensure local ownership.
  • Support facilitation and coordination to help ensure collaborative system working and alignment in embedded improvement activities.

To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.
