Overview
PepsiCo is looking for Product Specification Writer Team Lead to join in one of locations: Leicester, UK or Istanbul, Turkey.
Job Purpose
This role’s primary responsibility is to supervise a team of 5 specification writers to update/create Europe Foods Product Specifications to ensure legal compliance (through deploying required regulatory updates & updating data at required cadence) and work closely with Product Development and Commercialisation partners to enable delivery of R&D product launches for global and local brands.

Responsibilities
- The role involves contributing to a highly complex change programme whilst ensuring legal compliance across Europe Foods technical data & systems
- Scope, align & deliver portfolio of assigned product specifications through individual contribution & delivery through others
- Apply & ensure the team comply with regulatory & legal requirements through collaboration with regulatory teams
- Work effectively within regional and global cross-functional teams (Commercialisation, Product Development, Regulatory Affairs and Food Safety), demonstrating strong functional expertise to overcome barriers and deliver initiatives with excellence
- Contribute to workstreams to improve ways of working across the team e.g. improvement of business processes to drive greater efficiencies, sharing of knowledge to create better team cohesion
- Play an active role as a people manager - leading a team of specification writers to deliver business objectives as well as facilitating their development through coaching & identifying opportunities to increase skills, enabling them to achieve success in role and in preparation for their future career
- Graduate in Food, Science or Engineering discipline or equivalent (engineering for process roles) or equivalent in experience
- Solid FMCG background to support understanding of system requirements & change implications
- Ability to define and execute a programme of projects consistent with key business drivers
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence with integrity through persuasive communication to win support at senior levels within the organisation
- Strong programme management skills to effectively drive multiple projects
- Excellent cross-functional partnering skills
- Strong team management skills to continue team members further upskilling and development
- Cross departmental & functional leadership (technical & commercial) providing clarity on workstream objectives & deliverable co-ordination
- Management of full project life cycle from concept to industrial production, delivering through others to deliver technical components of cross-functional projects
- Experience of working across multiple markets & on global brands.
