Capgemini Engineering is looking with experience in Lab operation and Management in optical technologies.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including:

identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service)

Your role

  • Lab Operations and Management in Optical technology of vendors (e.g. Lumen, Huawei, Nortel, Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Lambda Unite, Ciena 54xx, Core Director, Infinera, Nokia fixed).
  • Develop/ Maintain Physical deployment and Connectivity design.
  • Maintain repository of tools with their license status.
  • Work with relevant teams and Vendors for any renewal/ upgrades.

Your Skills And Experience

  • Lab Operations and Management.
  • Maintain uptime of equipment (Health Check) and remote connectivity with OSS.
  • Maintain repository of tools with their license status.
  • Work with relevant teams and Vendors for any renewal/ upgrades.
  • Reporting.
  • Configuration and Change Control.
  • Change management/ tear-down/ wash-up activities.
  • Support for Installation Test Elements (once lab is Operational).
  • Develop/ Maintain Physical deployment and Connectivity design:
    • This would include network configuration details connecting to external network, Physical cabling diagrams and maintaining Equipment inventory
  • Engaging the relevant teams to resolve Service/ Connectivity issues
  • Making changes to environment configuration including:
    • Integration with remote OSS (Fault management)
    • Updating relevant lab Design Documents
    • Physical/ Logical configuration and connectivity
    • Peripherals (e.g. cabling, racking, etc.)
  • Fault finding and Maintenance in infrastructure.
  • Aid in Troubleshooting.

Your security clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.

There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.

There are other criteria and checks required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
