Salary: £12.26 per hour plus £80 car allowance
Hours: 15 hours per week Mon-Fri 10.30am-13.30pm
We are looking for enthusiastic, self motivated and reliable people, with good communication skills who have experience in working in a busy catering environment and have a working knowledge of health and safety / food safety. You will need to be a good team worker with good organisation skills.
The role includes assisting with basic food preparation, stock handling, the service of meals and all associated cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas, including the washing of kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery etc. The role will also entail assisting with setting up the schools' dining room including the lifting of tables and chairs.
The post- holder will undertake such other duties related to the work department, appropriate to the post, as may be assigned. The post-holder will be allocated a time scale in which these duties are performed.
Duties & Key Responsibilities
- You'll assist with the preparation of food.
- You'll assist with serving meals and collecting used crockery and cutlery at the end of the lunch period.
- You'll assist with the daily preparation of the dining room and counter.
- You'll undertake cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas, including the washing of kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery etc.
- You'll store goods delivered.
- You'll assist with the preparation of buffets and working lunches.
- You'll undertake such other duties related to the work of the department, appropriate to the post, as may be assigned.
- The post-holder may have the opportunity to assist with the preparation of food for special functions, such as P.T.A. events, parties etc., as required.
- The post-holder will be allotted a time scale in which these duties must be performed.
- Basic food preparation and service of food.
- Working in a busy kitchen environment.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate – Level 1.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures / systems.
- Knowledge of food safety management systems.
- Creativity and presentation skills.
