As an IT Ops Specialist, what are you going to do?
- Configure, test, deploy and support a variety of bespoke hardware and software solutions;
- Define and contribute to routine system maintenance procedures;
- Provide 24/7 remote on-call support as part of an on-call rota;
- Able to work out of hours and weekends as required (some travel may be required);
- Proactively identify faults predominantly remotely but also be able to attend sites.
- Respond to escalated incidents and guide/perform break/fix activities when errors and faults occur;
- Liaise with the customer and proactively communicate with the global ITOps community, providing visibility and insight on escalating issues and identifying areas where service can be improved;
- Create, update, and maintain documentation and contribute to, and deliver training;
- Be compliant with company policies including the use of IT Equipment, Health and Safety, Expenses, etc.
What are the skills and professional experience we’re expecting from you?
- Degree in “Information Systems Engineering”, "Computer Science" or similar;
- At least 5 years of professional experience performing a similar role;
- Currently holding or able to obtain SC clearance (5 years of background checks performed by the Home Office);
- Must have UK residency;
- Ability to work under pressure meeting customer SLAs and KPIs;
- Problem-solving, time management, and autonomy;
- Good knowledge of enterprise hardware (Servers, SAN storage, UPS) (Dell-certified desirable);
- VMware Administrator (Hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting vSphere, vCenter and Windows Server 2012 – 2016, within a high availability environment, VCP Certification (minimum), relevant Microsoft Certifications MSCE/MSCA;
- Ability to script and automate – (PowerShell);
- Network Administrator - Network support experience in a high availability environment, LAN & WAN architecture and CLI administration for Firewalls and switches like Dell, Fortinet or Cisco, L3 Switching basics ( Ethernet, VLAN, trunking, xSTP, …), dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, ISIS), DNS, DHCP, IPAM, NTP services);
- Good understanding of ITIL and significant exposure to Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management (desirable);
- Willing to understand and troubleshoot the Vision-Box portfolio (HW solutions – eGates, Kiosks, Portables, etc.);
- Proficient in English (written and spoken);
