We are excited to offer an exceptional 1-year internship opportunity designed specifically for students who are looking for a placement or graduate position. At Siemens Gamesa, we are looking for motivated interns to join our team, where you will have the chance to apply your academic knowledge, develop new skills, and contribute to impactful projects.

We have one internship opportunity available at our Hull Blade Factory, where you will report to the local IT Team Lead. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, network with industry professionals, and make a meaningful impact in a supportive and innovative environment. Note: All shortlisted candidates must be available to attend an Assessment Centre on 11th February 2025 (full day) at Hull University.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:

Role

This role is both varied and challenging, requiring you to be proactive and take ownership of several key tasks, these includes:

  • Providing friendly 1st and some 2nd line support for employees at all levels on various IT issues, escalating problems to the appropriate team or provider as needed, and preparing and issuing IT equipment such as laptops and phones for new and existing staff.
  • You will also support mobile phone issues, primarily iOS, manage user accounts (including password resets, unlocking, and licensing), act as "Smart Hands" for hardware support of externally managed services, and handle the ordering, issuing, and activation of company ID and access cards.
  • You will provide Office 365 support and troubleshooting, maintain accurate and up-to-date asset records, and assist with both local and SGRE (Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy) strategic IT project promotion and implementation.

  • Studying towards an IT or Business-related degree with a minimum 2:1 expected
  • Able to communicate within a team and across all levels, including Management, Suppliers and External Service Providers
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to set priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Able to work methodically and independently where applicable
  • Numerate and proficient in the use of Windows 10 operating system
  • Willing to learn technical concepts to support new systems and software
