Our continued expansion means that the role will be initially based in Caerphilly, relocating to our state-of-the-art HQ in Newport by end of the year.

About The Role

We are seeking a IT Helpdesk Assistant to provide outstanding support to our employees and ensure seamless hardware and software functionality at all times.

If you excel at diagnosing and resolving technical issues and possess exceptional interpersonal skills to support staff with varying levels of technical expertise, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance over the phone, email, or in-person.
• Resolve technical support issues related to computer systems, hardware, and software.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software applications, and peripheral equipment.
• Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
• Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams or vendors, ensuring comprehensive solutions.
• Track, document, and maintain a log of all help-desk interactions, including problem descriptions and resolutions.
• Maintain a knowledge base of common issues and solutions.
• Conduct IT orientation and training for new employees.
• Collaborate with IT team members to maintain network and system security.
• Assist in managing inventory of hardware and software resources.
• Stay current with system information, changes, and updates.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on systems and equipment.
• Be part of an on-call rota to cover issues that occur outside of UK core hours.
• Travel to other AerFin locations globally (approximately 10%)
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and the ability to explain solutions in user-friendly terms.
• Willingness to continue learning and adapting to new technologies.
