This opportunity is part of the East Coast Digital Programme (ECDP) team within Siemens Rail Infrastructure. This involves working with state-of-the-art European Train Control System technologies on the East Coast Mainline, creating the next generation railway. you will be part of a team transforming the capability of the East Coast Main Line, one of Britain’s busiest rail routes, improving performance and safety through the introduction of digital signalling technologies. The programme is trail blazing a new path for Network Rail and its suppliers, as well as train and freight operating companies to collaboratively work together in a transformative and collaborative industry model.

By the end of it, you will be set up with the best knowledge and hands-on experience to equip you for your professional career in Siemens. Some of your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Supporting the continuous development and delivery of cutting-edge rail technology solutions, integrating bespoke systems to support the wider delivery goals of signalling projects.
  • Working with multiple teams from solution development through to stakeholder feedback, to continuously improve and develop our technological offering to the industry.
  • initiating, creating and supporting business solutions through the use of digital technology, carving a path for the future of the industry.
  • Utilising systems engineering processes to reduce/mitigate delivery risk and improve efficiency of project delivery programs.

Essential Skills and Attributes;

We are seeking innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following;

  • Achieved or be on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in a Engineering or Technology related degree
  • Logical thinking, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change
  • Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
