Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents. This may attract an additional payment and full training, and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role. Incident response is a key part of the culture of the East Midlands Flood Resilience team.
It is possible that this role may be extended or made permanent.
The team
You’ll work in the Flood Resilience team who are responsible for managing our Flood Warning Service, supporting Flood Warning Duty Officers, and building resilient communities. We work towards ensuring our partners and communities are prepared for flooding and supporting them when it does happen.
Successful candidates will perform a key role in the team, supporting colleagues in delivering vital work, therefore having exposure and responsibility across the breadth of work which we deliver.
Experience/skills Required
You'll be well organised and have strong attention to detail to ensure our work is delivered to a high standard. You'll be a self-starter and a quick learner with a strong customer focus, with a solid understanding of data management and proficient in Microsoft Office. You'll be able to work as part of a team and individually, prioritising an interesting and varied workload. You will be interested in flood risk and resilience and have a passion for making a difference. You'll be good at working under pressure, working flexibly and at pace, and delivering positive outcomes.
A full UK driving licence is required.

Ideally you will be based in the Nottingham Trentside Office. However, we work on a flexible basis, and you will be able to blend home working and office attendance subject to work requirements. There may therefore be some flexibility in your office base location.
You will be required to undertake occasional travel throughout the East Midlands area.
Interviews will be held in-person, or online via Microsoft Teams where face-to-face is not possible, and are anticipated to take place in mid-December.
