Clinical Lead
Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust
Date: 3 weeks ago
City: Kingston upon Hull
Contract type: Full time
Job Overview
Are you a registered mental health nurse? Do you have a passion for excellent care? Are you excited by service improvement? Do you strive towards continued personal development? If the answer is yes, then we want to hear from you.
We have a very exciting opportunity for a clinical lead on our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Our PICU is a 10 bed ward based in Hull, within the same building as our adult admission unit and adult crisis team, close to the general hospital. We offer 3 female beds and 7 male beds within one setting all under the care of an experienced and skilled MDT including psychiatry, nursing, occupational therapy, allied health professionals and psychology.
It is a great time to be joining Humber PICU – we have commenced the Quality Network of Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (QNPICU) developmental membership, this is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of leading Quality improvement with the team through this process to achieve Accreditation, which is a mark of assurance of the quality Standards our Unit provides.
Main duties of the job
The service is looking for an enthusiastic individual with acute mental health leadership experience, to enhance and deliver the work being undertaken to optimise the Trust’s acute / unplanned pathway.
We’re looking for a talented and knowledgeable registered professional who is highly motivated with an excellent work ethos to join our friendly and supportive team.
In return we offer excellent development opportunities, and access to wider peer support.
There is an expectation that you will provide senior B7 duty cover on a Saturday, Sunday and BH Mondays to the wider unplanned adult and older adult inpatient services. This currently works out at 1 in every 15 weekend – so around 4 weekends a year – you would take your days off in the week. This is supported by the weekend MDT, covering all inpatients for emergency MDT discussions, which would be led by the B7 on duty and an inpatient RC / AC (also on a rota).
Working for our organisation
We are an award winning and CQC rated good health and social care Trust delivering integrated services across Hull, East and North Yorkshire. Find out more on our website

We recognise the positive value of diversity and promotes equality whilst challenging discrimination. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds.
Work life balance is about having influence and flexibility over when, where and how you work. If the work pattern for this role does not meet your needs, we welcome an application and are happy to discuss working arrangements that differ from those advertised.
We offer a unique range of benefits that go above and beyond other NHS Trusts including an enhanced leave package and health and wellbeing support.
