As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a passion for end user engagement and regional strategy to support our defence market success.

Role And Responsibilities

As a Business Development Manager at SubSea Craft, you will play a crucial supportive role in driving the company's growth and success, working with, and supporting Regional Leads. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the development and execution of strategic business plans, capturing progress and milestones, identifying new market opportunities, and supporting the management of key client relationships. Proactive engagement and actioned strategy are a must, collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment with business development objectives and company strategy. Additionally, you will engage with stakeholders in the defence and maritime sectors, particularly elements of the US Department of Defence. Your role will also involve supporting wider geographical business development teams, ensuring high customer satisfaction through effective relationship management and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy development: Support the development and implementation of strategic business development plans to achieve company objectives and expand market presence.
  • Client relationship management: Help build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including military officials, defence contractors, government agencies, and other potential partners.
  • Document and report achievements. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, detailing business development activities, milestones achieved, and strategic recommendations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, opportunities, and business development activities.
  • Engage with industry and network: Represent and advocate for the company at industry forums and contribute to thought leadership initiatives. Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network with key stakeholders in the maritime and defence sectors. International travel will be required.
  • Promote revenue growth: Support the development and execution of regional strategies to directly achieve company revenue and growth within the defence market.
  • Coordinate internal collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, product development, and finance, to align business development efforts with company goals. Ensure clear communication and coordination between regional and global teams to leverage resources and expertise.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Engineering, or a related discipline).
  • An understanding of the defence market, procurement processes, and relevant industry standards.
  • Proven experience in supporting the development and implementation of strategic business development plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong business relationships based on strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency is maintaining accurate records of client interactions, opportunities and report writing to communicate success.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work autonomously within small and dynamic teams.

Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Clearance likely to be required for specific projects.*
